McHacks 2018 will be happening February 3-4 at McGill's SSMU building in Montreal, Canada. This will be the fifth ediiton of McHacks with more than 600 hackers coming from all across North America to innovate, create and inspire.


If you applied to McHacks 2018, received an acceptance and also confirmed your attendance, you are eligible to attend McHacks.

If you attended and participated at McHacks, then you are eligible to make a submission. Each team must consist of no more than 4 participants.


You must include videos, photos, or screenshots of the working product and a link to the source code (GitHub, etc.) of your project.

The best hack made by a first-time hackathon team (ALL freshies). Each team member gets an annual subscription to their choice of a JetBrains tool.

Best Use of AI (3)

The best hack with a focus on AI. Each team member will be awarded indico API credit: $500 for first place, $250 for second place, $100 for third place.

Locals Only

The best hack by a local all-Montreal team. The team will be awarded a $100 gift card to Deville Dinerbar.

The best hack bringing a blast from the past and evoking that *nostalgic feeling*. Bonus points for being extra ~wavy~ with bold 80s colours and flat shapes.

    Which technologies did you use? How technically challenging is it? Which part of the project did you make? (Non-API)

    Is the hack fun to use? Is the interface polished? Is the user experience fun to use?
  • Practicality and Usefulness
    Is the hack useful? Does it raise social awareness or help under-privileged and under-represented people in any way?
